Kingsly Whitebird Reaches 1,000 Career Points
Cass Lake-Bena basketball standout Kingsly Whitebird hit a major career milestone, scoring his 1,000th point during a recent boys’ basketball game. The achievement places Whitebird among an elite group of athletes in the school’s history, a testament to his consistency and skill on the court.
Whitebird’s achievement was celebrated by fans, teammates, and coaches alike, marking a significant moment for the Cass Lake-Bena basketball program.
Girls’ Basketball Dominates Morris Area
Cass Lake-Bena’s girls’ basketball team delivered a commanding performance, defeating Morris Area with a final score of 65-29. The team came out strong from the opening whistle, applying relentless defensive pressure and capitalizing on fast breaks.
The victory extends the girls’ impressive start to the season, showcasing their ability to work as a cohesive unit. Key players stepped up throughout the game, delivering a well-rounded performance that left little room for Morris Area to mount a comeback.
Boys’ Basketball Triumphs Over Mahnomen Waubun
The Cass Lake-Bena boys’ basketball team also celebrated a major win, overpowering Mahnomen Waubun with an impressive 88-54 victory. The high-scoring affair highlighted the team’s offensive depth and fast-paced play style.
Led by Whitebird and a strong supporting cast, the boys controlled the tempo of the game from start to finish, earning yet another decisive win this season.

The bus time has been moved up for Girls Basketball tomorrow. They will be leaving at 7:00am. They will be going to the university of Morris tomorrow to get a tour and going shoot around in the Cougar Den tomorrow afternoon.

Due to the Saturday game in Morris the JH GBB will be practicing. If your child is going to practice please make sure they have a ride home. There will be no late bus on Friday.
The JH GBB games vs Clearbrook-Gonvick has been cancelled. The Friday reschedule is also cancelled.

During conferences tonight, Ms. Voge, School Counselor, and Mandy Schram, Director of The College Place, will be available to assist in the Financial Aid process for seniors who plan to attend college next school year. If students and guardians would like to create their FSA ID, which is the first step in the financial aid process, please have the following personal information available for both the student and parent/guardian: Social Security Numbers, personal email address for student and parent/guardian, mailing address, and cell phone number for student and guardian. Ms. Voge and Ms. Schram will be located in the I.S.S. Room.
